Helping Kids Think - and Drink - Outside the Box

Opportunity:

Starryside is one of our very own brands created with and for our kids to solve the creativity crisis. As parents, we realized the decline is partly caused by old thinking in what they eat and drink (85% of children are less creative than their 1980s counterparts). Meanwhile, the kids’ drink aisle looks the same as it did 30 years ago — full of sugary juice boxes headed to the landfill! We set out to bring imagination back to lunchboxes and beyond with Starryside, a new-to-world brand that dreams up more inspired drinks.

Solution:

StarryEyed founder, Liz, and her longtime friend and client at Dole and CORE, Erin, set out to save kids’ creativity. We enlisted the help of tiny tasters with fellow parent and Ben & Jerry’s flavor guru to create the world’s first Star Water in three fun flavors: Rockin’ Root Beer, Beachy Peachy Strawberry, and Magical Mango Pineapple. The organic, immunity-boosting beverage has everything fams want (vitamins, minerals, taste) and nothing they don’t (sugar, calories, juice) in infinitely-recyclable, adventure-ready cans.

Impact:

Star Water made a splash at Expo West and has been featured in BevNet, Food Navigator, Authority Magazine and Startup CPG. Today, kids run the business selling D2C via social and Star Water stands (lemonade is so 1999) so families can think - and drink - outside the box. Because when you look on the sunny side, you see what’s positive. When you look on the Starryside, you see what’s possible.
