Opportunity:

When an award-winning restaurant in America’s Foodiest Town of Boulder, Colorado pivoted to become a premier frozen food brand, the founders knew they needed a brand strategy to make the switch. With a heart-warming history about the restaurant’s family recipes made in it, they wanted to stand out on-shelf in an entirely new industry.

Solution:

StarryEyed created a sizzling North Star strategy inspired by the Alvarez family and their heritage in Jalisco, the birthplace of tequila, mariachi and the Mexican hat dance. In collaboration with the Casa team, we revisited the legend of their heritage ingredients and traditions passed down through generations to create packaging like the celebrations found in the sun-soaked streets of their hometown. 

Impact:

Today Casa Alvarez helps “find your fiesta” with a fiery, foodie spirit. The brand is known for honoring tradition (the same beloved family recipes) and deliciously defying it (made in modern, more convenient ways). They continue to heat up the frozen food aisle with their famous green chiles sold at Whole Foods, Vitamin Cottage and more.
